How Being Vocal Can Boost Your Career Success
Ever not known the answer to an important payroll query? or worried about what would happen if that parent made a complaint about you?
Sometimes you need to keep at things to get the answers that you need.Â
Instead of staying silent and hoping the problem resolves itself, it's essential to follow up with the appropriate channels - emailing payroll or your union, again and again, is important to feel safe and secure that your question has been dealt with effectively.Â
Be that squeaky wheel.Â
âŠ6 unknown ways you're making a difference in school
1. As a student, I'm so happy that you listen to my news.
2. As a parent, I'm so relieved that you're noticing that my child has dyslexic tendencies. I really struggled in school.
3. As a principal, I'm grateful that you hand in your cuntas mĂosĂșil in time. I hate going looking for them
4. As a student, though I can't articulate it properly - my movement break really helps me listen better through the day.
5. As an AP post holder, I really appreciate that you're helping me with this project. ThinâŠ

I've just finished a Masters in SEN - let me know if I can be of any assistance to you.
Hi Mary - I'll be applying for principal roles in the future and I'm looking for a mentor - would you be able to guideâŠ

What Are The Most Challenging LAOS Topics?
The main concerns in interviews that my clients have are...
- How to answer the conflict question.
- How to answer the challenging situation question.
- The fact that they feel that their competition âis highâ for the role
- How to answer the âvisionâ question.
School principals can avail of coaching to help them plan their vision, to help them strengthen team dynamics, to help them reflect on how they responded to incidents of conflict or discuss challenging situations. Isnât that cool?

How do you answer the question on the vision for the role/vision for the school?
This question is one I get again and again from clients and they need to put their thinking caps on!Â
How do you answer the question on the vision for the role/vision for the school?
One thing that I noticed when I began leadership coaching is that teachers sometimes were sometimes frustrated and they could sometimes use this question as a chance to vent. For this question, I always recommend that the energy is positive. This question IS NOT a chance to rant and tell them what you believe is gâŠ
Interview practice â Why should I bring positive energy into the interview room?
Interviews can be daunting but there are ways that you can make them less stressful. Believe it or not, some people enjoy the process! You may think that an interview is something you are beckoned to and that you are under scrutiny. Look at it from a different aspect; this is your chance to shine and you can add to the overall mood and tone of the interview.
Positivity and the teacher
A teacher should be a positive influence in the classroom and also should be a positive, can-do member of the schoâŠ
Things you can do to improve your energy and mood in interviews
I wanted to share with you, one massive observation that I'm seeing with many 1-1 interviews with clients recently. That is the effect ENERGY LEVELS have on interviewers and candidates during interviews. Even if you are nervous about interviews, it is important to note what kind of energy you are putting out there. If you convey nervousness and self-doubt, you are sending certain negative signals to the interviewer.
There is a lot you can do to help yourself and your interviewer feel more at easeâŠ
âI want to change career, who can help me?â
This is a common question I see popping up amongst career changers. They want to change, but they're STUCK.
STUCK in the problem.
STUCK not knowing what to do.
STUCK because their current job gives them financial security and they can't afford to leave.
STUCK because they fear change.
STUCK because they're unsure of who can help them.
Well... I CAN HELP!
âUnstickâ Yourself
Firstly, unstick yourself from the problem. If you imagine your career discontentment as a dot in the middle of an A4 page.... theâŠ
