The Special Role that Year Heads Play

Many of my clients are year heads or aspiring year heads... here is an insight into the role they play....

Year heads

• have the needs of their year group in their thoughts at all times

• create opportunities for their group to connect, feel supported and engage with one another

• are in tune with the effects of anxiety, bullying and academic achievements and put steps in place to help pupils at risk

• contact parents regularly to keep them informed

• collaborate with class teachers and support them with behaviour management issues

• report to management about any concerns and observations they have about their year group
